Whether you are a newcomer to the scoopkeeda photography world or have been a photographer for years, there are a few basic types of photography that you need to know. The three basic types of photography include: Aerial photography, Documentary photography, and Lifestyle photography.

    Street photography

Getting good street photography takes a little practice. You’ll need to know your camera well, but also have a clear eye and a keen sense of timing.

There are many kinds of street photography. Some focus on the social documentary, while others are more witty and tongue-in-cheek. Regardless of the style, you’ll need to respect your subject’s privacy and keep an eye out for the right moment.

One of the best technical skills in street photography is zone focusing. This is a manual prefocusing technique that allows you to adjust your camera’s settings to a deep depth of field. Once your subject has reached the zone, you’re ready to take a picture.

    Lifestyle photography

Often referred to as “lifestyle photography,” this style of photography focuses on the human experience and capturing real-life events. This style of photography is often used in advertising campaigns, magazine articles, and social media.

It’s important to remember that not every lifestyle photoshoot will be successful. This is because many of the aforementioned factors are involved in capturing the perfect shot.

The best lifestyle shots are the ones that evoke emotion. Rather than posing your subject, try asking them to do something. This will result in a more natural looking photograph.

Another important factor to remember is lighting. The best lifestyle photos are usually the ones that use natural light. However, if this isn’t an option, professional lighting equipment can be used.

    Documentary photography

Traditionally, Documentary Photography refers to photography that attempts to document real-life situations. Its aim is to expose social injustices and draw public attention to urgent remedial actions. It also conveys a meaningful message about global events.

In the 19th century, photographers traveled to remote parts of the world to capture images meant to describe locations that were unknown to Europeans. Often these projects were shaped by the photographer’s personal views of the world. They were also often influenced by their cultural values.

The term Documentary Photography first appeared in the mid-1800s. It evolved through a series of sub-genres.

The most common documentary themes include health issues, human rights violations, and environmental problems. These photographs are typically presented in photo-essay format. The documentary genre also incorporates ethnographic photography, which is scientific research on specific cultures.

    War photography

Historically, war photography is considered one of the fundamental types of photography. It consists of photographing armed conflict, including the use of weapons. Its purpose is to record the injustices of war. It is also used to inform the public, hold elected politicians accountable, and raise public awareness about the issues of war.

War photography has undergone significant changes since the Civil War. The development of new photographic equipment, press printing, and technology has altered the ways we see and understand photographs. Those changes have dramatically changed the context of war photographs.

The first major conflict to be photographed consistently was the American Civil War. Photographers such as William Howard Russell worked for newspapers and illustrated periodicals. Their photographs sought to counter the widespread aversion to war. The style of imagery they used helped to create a perception of heroes.

    Aerial photography

During the First World War, aerial photography became crucial for military purposes. The British army mounted cameras on Spitfires to avoid detection. Aerial photographs were also used by planners for the reconstruction of destroyed cities.

These photographs can be in black and white or color. Aerial color photography is especially useful for mapping soil, vegetation, and bodies of water. It also provides valuable historical information about vegetation.

Aerial photography is usually taken with high-precision cameras. The images are processed through filters that selectively absorb and transmit target wavelengths. The filters are essentially a layer of dyes on a backing material.

Aerial photography can be divided into different categories according to the type of film used and the camera axis. These categories include small scale aerial imagery, medium scale aerial imagery, and large scale aerial imagery.

    Drone photography

Using a drone for aerial photography can be a lot of fun. But, it is important to know the rules before flying one. Drones are sky high flying, unmanned cameras that can be controlled remotely.

Aerial photography is a good way to get a bird’s eye view of the world. Drones can shoot panoramas, seascapes and landscapes. It is a new way to see the world.

The best drone photos are usually shot using a simple composition. This keeps the subject in focus. Adding texture and contrast is a great way to make the photos more interesting.

Another good idea is framing. This helps to define the image and sharpen it.
